The following services are available for transitioning members and veterans of all service branches through the Pope AFB Airman and Family Readiness Flight.

Pre-Separation Counseling - This is a one on one mandatory briefing for all service members NO LATER THAN 90 days prior to separation/retirement. You must attend this briefing prior to attending the 3-day TAP Seminar.  Call 910-394-2538 to register.

TAP Seminar- 3 days;  0800-1600. Recommended 1 to 2 years prior to separation/retirement.  Great seminar!  Run by Department of Labor Veterans Representatives.  Topics cover everything from career planning, goal setting, job search, to resume writing and interviewing skills, decision making and  veterans benefits.  (Attend Pre-Separation Counseling prior to TAP - see below)

Survivor’s Benefit Plan  Air Force's SBP web site, The goal of this website is to provide important, accurate information about the SBP to future military retirees, current retirees, SBP Counselors, and others interested in the SBP.

Marine for Life - a really good website for any veteran.

Executive Transition Assistance Program (ETAP) – Held at different localities in CONUS. Provides the necessary skills and knowledge to seek employment in Corporate America.  Offered to active-duty personnel separating or retiring within 18 months.  Participants should hold advanced degrees and have management and leadership experience.  Each Major Command may have enrollment rank requirements.
